About Baker Tilly Greenwoods

Baker Tilly Greenwoods is one of the oldest and largest independent auditing, accounting and advisory firms in Cape Town. As an independent member firm of Baker Tilly International, we operate within South Africa with associated independent member firms in Johannesburg and Durban.

Our Leadership Team

mynhardt kitshoff

Mynhardt Kitshoff

Mynhardt joined Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 1993 and was appointed partner in 1997. He attained his BAcc degree from the University of Stellenbosch and a BCompt Honours degree from the University of South Africa (Unisa), where he graduated as Unisa’s top student.

Mynhardt specialises in advisory services for family and owner-managed businesses and he has extensive experience across industries such as manufacturing, retail, farming, transport, mining and commercial enterprises. He also offers guidance in estate and succession planning, business valuations, corporate restructuring, mergers & acquisitions and phantom share schemes.

In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, kayaking and spending time with friends and family.

carl beekmans

Carl Beekmans

Carl began his traineeship at Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 1998 and became a partner in 2002. He holds a BComm degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town. 

With expertise in inter alia corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) consulting, he serves clients across a diverse range of industries. As the partner leading all BEE consulting at the firm, he assists clients with BEE compliance, strategy, and implementation, helping them meet regulatory requirements and optimise their empowerment credentials.

In his spare time, Carl enjoys sports, especially football (soccer). He coaches his children’s sports teams and enjoys playing padel and golf.

Jurie de Kock

Jurie joined Baker Tilly Greenwoods as a trainee accountant in 2001 and after qualifying as chartered accountant he left the firm in June 2005 to join Deloitte Johannesburg where he was made partner Audit & Assurance in June 2011. He rejoined Baker Tilly Greenwoods as partner in 2025.

He obtained his BComm Financial Accounting and BComm Financial Accounting honours degrees from the University of Stellenbosch after which he completed his BCompt Honours through the University of South Africa, and Masters of Commerce in International Accounting at the University of Johannesburg in 2008. He also completed a Business Leadership Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science in 2012.

Jurie has extensive experience across a broad range of industries spanning from JSE listed to medium sized companies - both in assurance and advisory roles. He has expertise in business development, internal controls and corporate governance, and his work spanned diverse markets in Africa, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, United States and China.

He is a keen runner and nature lover, enjoys good wine and is an avid reader. Jurie also has an interest in art and enjoys playing golf.

monique podesta

Monique Podesta

Monique commenced her career with Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 2004 as a trainee accountant and advanced to partner in 2011. She obtained her BAcc and BAcc Honours degrees from the University of Stellenbosch, were she graduated third in the honours class.

With extensive experience in auditing and accounting, Monique provides valuable expertise to clients across various sectors, including farming, manufacturing, technology (software), construction, exports, and family trusts. She also gained international experience during a six-month secondment in New York, working for a US based audit firm.

Outside of work, Monique enjoys spending time with her family, including her two children.

elizca mulder

Elizca Mulder

Elizca joined Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 2005 and became partner in 2015. She holds both a BAcc and BAcc honours degrees from the University of Stellenbosch.

She has extensive experience in auditing private and public companies across sectors such as manufacturing, forestry, farming, and property investment. As one of the firm’s technical partners, Elizca oversees quality management processes, training programmes, and the trainee assessment system, and she chairs the Baker Tilly South Africa Risk and Technical Committee. As the firm’s training officer, Elizca plays an important role in mentoring teams to foster professional growth.

In her spare time, Elizca enjoys playing the piano and is currently the assistant accompanist for the Tygerberg Children’s Choir. She is a founding member of the Voces Cordes choir, and if she is not busy with these cultural activities, she spends time with family and friends.

jana giliomee

Jana Giliomee

Jana commenced her training contract at Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 2011 and became a partner in 2016. She obtained her BAcc Law and her BAcc Honours degrees both from the University of Stellenbosch.

Jana spent 9 months on secondment in New York where she gained experience in international transactions and the related tax aspects.

Specialising in IFRS, tax, and due diligence, she serves diverse industries offering tailored solutions to meet each client’s specific needs while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and corporate governance.

In her spare time, Jana enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as sailing with her husband.

Driaan Byleveldt

Driaan joined Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 2009 and qualified as a professional accountant in 2011. He obtained his BComm Management Accounting and BComm Financial Accounting honours degrees at the North West University. He left the firm in 2013 to pursue a career in commerce, after which he successfully established his own accounting practice. He rejoined the firm as director of Baker Tilly Greenwoods Accounting Services in 2021.

His expertise lies in Xero cloud (online) accounting and to assist clients in building their businesses - to increase efficiency, streamline business operations and manage their businesses more effectively.

Driaan enjoys spending time with his family and love exploring nature, either by running, camping or taking road trips.

Johan Bashford

Johan joined Baker Tilly Greenwoods as a trainee accountant in 2012 and became partner in 2021. He obtained his BAcc and BAcc Honours degrees from the University of Stellenbosch.

Specialising in auditing, accounting, due diligence, tax consulting, and dispute resolution, Johan is highly skilled in handling complex local and international tax queries and regularly writes tax opinions. Johan has worked across various industries, including attorney trusts, professional services, manufacturing, wholesale, non-profit organisations, fishing, and investment property.

He is a sports lover and his interests include rugby, cricket, tennis Formula 1 and he participates in touch rugby and golf. He also likes hiking, jogging and staying active. He also enjoys participating in whisky and wine tastings.

ruleen louw small

Ruleen Louw

Ruleen commenced her traineeship at Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 2014 and was appointed partner in 2024. She graduated with a BAcc degree, followed by her BAcc Honours degrees, both from the University of Stellenbosch.

As one of the firm’s Technical Partners, Ruleen oversees the maintenance and implementation of the network’s audit methodology as well as the firm’s quality management processes. She is also involved in the performance of pre- and post-issuance quality reviews.

Her interests include reading, writing and spending time with friends and family.

Mariska Goosen

Mariska joined Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 2018 and became partner in 2024. She obtained her BAcc and BAcc Honours degrees both from the University of the Free State where she graduated second in her Honours class.

Specialising in auditing, Mariska has experience with entities involved in manufacturing, service rendering, farming, property development and investment holding across various sectors.

In her spare time, she likes reading, doing crossword puzzles, jogging, travelling and spending time with her family and friends.

Tyrone Breytenbach

Tyrone joined Baker Tilly Greenwoods in 2016 and became a director in 2025. He graduated from the North West University (Potchefstroom campus) where he obtained his BComm Chartered Accounting degree in 2013 and his BComm Financial Accounting honours degree in 2014. He qualified as a Professional Accountant in 2018, after achieving a top 10 position in the SAIPA (South African Institute of Professional Accountants) national examination.

His expertise includes accounting and tax and has experience with entities involved in service rendering, retail, investment properties and family trusts.

His interests include spending time outdoors, going on hikes with his dog, spending time with his friends and family and ready a good book on the beach.
